Tarun Jain

I am a PhD candidate in the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering expecting to graduate in 2014.

I am deeply motivated to use technology to solve some of the most pressing issues of our age, and have done work in fields including clean water (membranes and desalination), renewable energy (wind generation and energy storage), and biomedical technologies (nanopore sequencing and microfluidics). I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, and obtained a BA in both Physics and Mathematics from NYU. I am also a recipient of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, and have a profound interest in the visual arts.
